Getting started with quantitative secondary data analysis…

As part of the DEMO2015 module we will be doing quantitative secondary analysis of the Accra Urban Health and Poverty Project data. This data was collected as part of EDULINK PopTRCD a collaborative project between the Centre for Global Health, Population, Poverty & Policy at the University of Southampton and the Regional Institute for Population Studies at the University of Ghana.

When we are in Ghana we will visit one of the field sites in Ga Mashie to learn about how the household sampling was done. We will also talk to the original researchers and local NGO staff about the historical and socio-cultural context of the area which will help us to understand the data and to better interpret the results of our analysis.

Look out for pictures and news from our site visit to Ga Mashie in a few weeks.
